best everyday card

is the amex fidelity 2% on everything the best everyday card? i dont spend too much in any particular category, just the average mix between restaurants, grocery stores, gas etc.

any insight is greatly appreciated. thanks!

I'd vote for the amex everyday. You get a min of 1.5 cents x $ plus the ability to transfer. 3x for gas and 4.5x for groceries up to 6k.

if you're looking for one card to rule em all, like pokemon, this prolly aint the forum for you.

around here we believe in picking up as many pieces of plastic as possible.

if you have great to excellent FICO score look into CapONe Quicksilver which gives you 1.5% on everything, no caps, no limits. The other one is Amex blue cash which you can still find in their archive. If you can catch an offer with high welcome bonus, take advantage of it!

Why would you take this over the Fidelity?

As long as you plan to use your cashback for travel expenses, the Barclays Arrival card is better.

It is 2.22% back, compared to 2%, and is MC vs. Amex.

Although only the first year annual fee is waived, the signup bonus is almost $450 compared to $50. With that extra $400, you could pay the annual fee for years 2-5 and still be ahead.

It's just a personal choice that I don't like anything to do with Fidelity. AFAIK, earnings from the Fidelity goes to Fidelity account but I may be wrong.

Which you then withdraw.
