Nice Hilton points hall - I am considering the exact same. How many, if any, reconsideration calls and to which banks?

Also, I'll bite - why did Chase blacklist you?

Why only one Citi Hilton, no 2 browser trick.

Also, I successfully got my mom a SW card from chase for 50K after a Charge Off (times were tough) and a repo (idiot father didn't pay his bill and mom was a cosigner). Took like 10 mins. Did you not call reconsideration

Wha! Wha! Whaat!!! You got your mom approved after a chargeoff and a repo? The credit gods must have been smiling upon you that day. I did call the consideration line, not once but two times and no dice. What is the age of your charge off? Perhaps the amount played a deciding factor. I wonder if its easier to get approved for one chase card over the other??

I was a bit skiddish and didn't think I was going to be approved, besides I've really been hitting up Citi for lots of cards recently. If I had gone for the 2BM on the Hilton, that would have been 5 cards in less than 6 months.

I had to call on the Citi Biz and send proof and that took a few weeks. The AA Citi cards I was able to chat online and then had to call in to get approved.

Yup, also was able to convince them to let a friend who had 3 yrs of credit, only 1 card with 4,000 limit and a 30,000 income a CSP. He was originally denied for income and not having a card over 5,000 ( I lectured him for an hour about the dangers of credit and he PIF every month, so I am not worried about him getting in over his head). That was a longer and more stressful conversation than the one for my mom.

Anyway, IIRC the CO was from 2002 and it was for 1,200.

Basically did the same as you except I already have the Citi Hilton Card and opted for the US Airways Mastercard (40K after 1st purchase and up to 10K in balance transfers for 50K total). Had to call reconsideration for BofA and BofH cards (did you mean to request both - yes) and The US Airways card took a few days but was approved. So, we'll have 190K HHonors points and I'll use the US Airways points for a R/T Domestic F for my mom from TPA to SEA over the summer.

I'm glad to announce that after almost 14 years the 'Black Cloud' has been lifted from my Chase file. Just got approved for two cards within the last couple days. Marriott Premier Rewards and the Amazon Visa. I'll be on my best behavior this time around.
