Card application while traveling - foreign IP address a problem?

I'm in Germany at the moment but want to get an app in tomorrow to beat an offer deadline. Does anyone have any experience as to whether a foreign IP address would trigger any kind of fraud-prevention review measure that could delay matters and mess things up?

Time-sensitive app would be with AMEX (Gold Bus), with another app being done with Citi (AA Bus Visa) for sake of having the credit pulls done on the same day.

Big sausage and a bottle of hefeweizen for the best answer. :D

I've applied for my most recent 5 cards from IP addresses in western Europe. The mailing address used was my US address. The cards were always waiting for me when I got home.

That's the reassurance I needed. ^

I've also applied for multiple CC's using a foreign ip address and have not bumped into any trouble.

When I applied for a Chase card from England about 2 years ago I had to do extra verification when I got home to get the card.

I've never had any problem with credit card applications, but using a credit card online is another matter. Try shopping at macys.com or a few other sites and see what happens! Everything works until you try to check out, even with a US shipping address that matches the credit card address.

What kind of extra verification?

I applied for the Chase Sapphire Preferred card from the UK less than a month ago using my US address. Card is now in hand with no additional verification. I've also applied for two AmEx cards while out of the US without additional security required.

Doesn't seem to be a general problem for those who apply from outside of the US but are considered to be a US person by most credit card companies.

I have recently applied for SPG American Express, Chase Sapphire Preferred, and Capital One Rewards, all from a China IP address and had no problems. Just used my US address to send the cards to.

I have had many problems with using Paypal from China. Many times they have frozen my account right after I do some activity and I have to call and go through many hassles. I think at this point they have finally put some notes in my account that it is OK to see activity from China. ^

Don't feel bad, PayPal did the same thing to me for sending $5 from my US account from a UK IP address. Pain in the rear to fix it, as the web interface got stuck in some sort of infinite loop that wouldn't let me do the things I was supposed to do to fix it.
