Co.com Seat Assignment: Glitch?
I will be flying CO28 EWR-LHR next month. Made my reservations many weeks ago and booked 6E, so I can recline and sleep as soon as I am able and not worry about reclining into someone's dinner. The seat chart on co.com now shows two seats orange-ed out for me: 6E and 1B (1B is listed as "pending"). I called the Elite desk and the agent tole me she made a correction, but the seat chart hasn't changed. I called again and was told it was a "glitch."
Has anyone else encountered this issue? I really don't want to be in 1B on the redeye, as I eat before I board and try to get as much sleep as possible and I do not want to recline into someone. |
Yes, I am flying ewr to las and when I check my seats both seats I am assigned for the separate legs (2e and 5b) are shown in orange for both legs. It seems like a glitch to me.

Something is going on with co.com - I show the same problem on a r/t EWR-FLL flight. Called reservations and they confirmed my seats but they couldn't explain why co.com was showing what it does.
|
Same here. On my IAH-LHR flight 5 weeks out, I am booked 2D out 3D back and co.com seat selector shows both seats both ways colored out and the text says change is pending.
|
Perhaps, CO's IT was doing some finishing programming touches in preparation for the entry to A* but accidentally made a dent on the seat assignment part of the reservation. Just guessing... ;) Who knows what really is happening.
|
I am having the same problem too on my EWR-HKG flight but not on the BDL-EWR leg.
|
Reported last week as another undocumented enhancement to co.com by the IT staff.
|
:confused:same here on my 9/11 flight ewr to sat and return on 9/15.

Stll being glitchy
I just checked and its showing me in my seat and also another one pending.
I'm just ignoring it but it better not mess up my 3 day EUA;) |
Someone at CO needs to fix this "double orange" problem, ASAP. Same thing happened to me on my flight just yesterday (TPA/EWR), and it caused an issue on the flight -- 2 people had the same exit row seat assignment. I pushed the call button several times to resolve, with no F.A. repsonse at all (bad). My "seat sharer" noticed the gate agent on board, so I called out the issue to him. He had no interest the issue, and just yelled back to take another seat. Fine. But he didn't even ask if it was exit row, which would have mattered if there were no others. Luckily, there was another, and it was not a big deal, but it could have been for all he knew or cared. And isn't that his main job function at that time to resolve seat issues?
Anyway, I just want to add my experience to the thread in case that someone at CO is reading it. Hope this helps. |
BUMP!
Bumped in the hope that CO will see this & get something done.
Tried to send a tweet to CO only to find that Twitter's overloaded and not accepting logins. |
OK, now I have something a little worse to add. Last night (Monday) I went to check-in on-line for my return today (Tuesday) and the system wouldn't let me. Hmmm...
Called in to find out why, and the agent asked if I had really taken the outbound flight, because my return res had been cancelled!! Told her the whole story about the double orange seat and having a seat-sharer show up. Good thing I called in, so she could recreate my res. 24 hrs ahead of flight time vs. scrambling at the airport. This flight was eventually full, and I probably would not have gotten on had I not called. I don't see a huge reaction to this thread from the people on here, so maybe it's just not that widespead???? |
still showing double seats here also :td:
|
I had this problem on IAH-YVR on 9/3. It was showing 2 seats. When I went to print BP - it had me in a middle seat. I had not paid attention when I printed BP - that'll teach me - but GA paged me and fixed at the gate. Luckily, upgrade came through just before doors closed.
If it's still showing 2 you might want to call or end up where you don't want to sit ! |
I was able to (apparently) correct these by changing seats to open seats, saving the changes, and then changing back to the original seats that I wanted. I did this at about 4 AM EDT to minimize the possibility of losing exit row seating. It worked for the 20 flight segments that were screwed up for us.
