Changing a refundable ticket
I did a quick search but couldn't find an answer to my very stupid question:
I booked a fully refundable EWR - SFO ticket a week ago for a flight on the 25th of August. I need to extend my stay by 1 day, so I went on co.com and tried to change the return flight, and it's telling me I need to pay $150 for the change. The total fare for the extended stay is similar to the original one. I usually get my tickets through my TA, but I booked this one by myself and I must admit I do not know all the details of change/refunds. Am I supposed to cancel the flight and book a new one to avoid the change fee? Seems a pretty complicated process for something that simple... |

I think your TA should be contacted to do the change - if you instructed them to buy a refundable ticket and they didn't, then they should make the change and eat the fee and any fare difference. |
No, I meant I booked it instead of my TA for once, otherwise he'd do all of this for me.
It was book in B, and the eticket shows REFUNDABLE. |

If the fares are the same then book a new one and cancel the old one. Or call in and have them fix it for you.
I suppose it is possible that the refundable ticket has a change fee but that seems a bit strange. |
