How long for an ETC?

I searched but could not find anything, though I'm sure a thread exists.

How long does it take CO to mail you an ETC. My father was set to fly up to IAH on Monday morning back in July (7/14) but the flight was overbooked (F and Y, he was in F--airfcraft substitution) and they asked him to move to an Express flight the previous day (7/13) for $250. He did this but it is now 08/10 and nothing has come in the mail. How much longer should I wait before I e-mail We Care?

Call CO with the details. I usually get my ETC info right when I make the new reservation; they should be able to give you the PIN over the phone.

Thank you. I called CO, the agent didn't give me the PIN number but promised I would receive it in the mail within 5-7 business days.

Hmmm...why wouldn't he/she give you the PIN? I've never had an issue getting a PIN after the fact (although to be fair I haven't tried in at least a year...I now always get them immediately, as I mentioned).

Maybe because you weren't the traveler, I suppose.

Did your father receive a stack of card stock that's used for the gate boarding passes? The instructions and PIN would be on that.

They must have contacted him prior to the flight...note that he moved from a flight on the 14th to one a day earlier. That would be quite a trick at the gate...

No, CO called him at work that afternoon asking if he would leave on the 6:15pm flight that same day instead of the 5:25am flight the next morning. He said yes and agreed to the $200 (my mistake on the earlier post, it was not for $250).
