I will be interested to see what direction they go with it.

If that account is even legitimate. Anyone can open a Twitter account and upload a graphic. The graphic even looks a bit off.

Then how do you know either of the ones you posted are legitimate? Not sure how you can ask about validity after posting two accounts with zero activity on them. The account I posted is legitimate, verified by a CO employee.

This "Tweet" doesn't look very professional:

"Re: CO Express 2816 we’re working w/ExpressJet. Svc unacceptable. We’re apologizing to customers, will give refunds & vouchers 4 future tvl"

Haven't seen any official comment from CO other than this. Still looks suspicious to me.

Something about a 140 character press release that is a bit, well, silly. They don't even get to mention that they are the world's 5th largest carrier or how many destinations they serve with their alliance partners. ;)

But that is the style of Twitter and I do believe that it is a legit/official account.

It still looks suspicious, yet the two accounts you posted have no activity, use an abbreviated version of the name, and no followers; That looks suspicious.

They've also posted the weekend specials there (long before the e-mail was sent out).

It's the official account, I've now confirmed it with two CO employees.

Examples of other airline tweets:

JetBlue

Attn Bay Area RT @JetBlueCheeps $9 SFO to LGB o/w this Sat. 25 seats avail or til 6pm ET. Go http://tr.im/cheeps Taxes, Fees & Rest. apply
Southwest Airlines

If you are headed out east this evening check your flight status: http://bit.ly/qAzlf TStorms in the area could cause delays.

Oh, and don't worry, Twitter is being sued for patent infringement, so it may all be over soon anyway.

Yep, that's us, Hartmann. How's that for timing?

Not our first choice for a second tweet, COpltASgldPHX. The 140 character limit did force us to keep it brief.

Just make sure you only accept followers that are among the most profitable customers, Scott. ()

I love the Twitter bashing on this thread... methinks that most of the folks who think Twitter is just a fad also probably thought the same thing about the gasoline engine and FDR's presidency.

myspace has lasted long enough now to not be a 'fad' doesn't mean I like it!

the difference is we need a gasoline engine. no one needs facebook, myspace and especially twitter. if you like those things then fine but we sure dont need them. well unless you are the middle aged stalker looking up ex girlfriends on myspace.:D
