Non-Airline EQM
I just looked at my OP account and have ~5k of EQM from non-airline activity. There are six entries between 4/21 - 5/12 showing Onepass and then San Salvador on each line. Does anyone know what these could be from? I'm not complaining :D but just curious what they are from.

do you have presidential plus card?

Me too. I just noticed this when I logged in:
05/24/2009 Chase Credit Promotion Bonus EQMs 402 How did I get this? |

I just applied for it last week but haven't received a response yet from Chase. I thought that only gave me 25% more RDM, not EQM? Either way though, that can't be why I got the non-airline EQM as the date of the entries are from before I even applied for the card. The entries have now changed to say Elite Qualifying Mile Bonus which show in next to my Elite Status Twice as Fast miles also. |
Hmm. I got these, too. Listed as "Elite Qualifying Mile Bonus." And I received these only for recent flights. I wonder if this is related to Double EQM?
|
Is it just dumped into your account and added to your EQM or is there an anootation "Available Flex Elite Qualification Miles:"?
|
Definitely not Flex (and I do have the Presidential Plus MC). If these are for-real, even if only during Double EQM, that will be another hugs bonus for this card. Even more so if this extra "bonus" is ongoing and related to the card enhancements.
|
Interesting. Don't have any in my account, though I have taken some recent flights and used the card to purchase them.
|
DEQMs post as: Elite Status Twice as Fast
So this is not them. I have not seen an EQM bonus other than flexEQM added to that bank from PPlus, but have some postings coming in the next hours to 24 hours and will see if that shows up it may be an EQM bonus to the pplus card as well as RDM. |
For my last flight, I received regular EQM (only 50% as booked through corporate travel agent), "Elite Qualifying Mile Bonus," AND "Elite Status Twice as Fast," 378+378+378 miles. And these are all in the EQM columns. The mystery is what is, ""Elite Qualifying Mile Bonus"?
|
And one more thing. On the summary table, all these EQM (378x3 for each leg of the round trip) are listed under Airline Activity, not Non Airline or Reward...

I don't have the PPlus card, and the flight was not booked with the Chase card I do have. |

I have this same type of notation on my account today -- from a business trip earlier this month that was booked through our corporate travel agent. Today an extra 426 miles showed up (IAH-MCO) labeled "Elite Qualifying Miles Bonus." I'll certainly take it, thank you, but I was also wondering what it was...! :)

i recall that one guy posted about how their corporate travel agency somehow was able to work out a deal to get full EQM even on the cheap fares. so maybe that's what you're seeing.
|
If that is the case, then all I can say is that it is about time! Never stuck me as fair that I was penalized on EQM for not using co.com when I was not allowed to, yet with CO being out preferred carrier. I am thrilled if that is the case now.
One small thing to still complain about: the double EQM bonus is based on the 50% EQM for booking a cheap fare... |
