Which is one more reason that the flight attendant needs to check the manifest. If they were smart enough to fake a PDA site, they'd be smart enough to fake a boarding pass.

The FA should have taken the time to check the final report. We know that the OP and friend were still seated in F because of their OnePass statement. This means that their names were printed by their seat numbers.

But if the GA unsat the OP and friend before the final was printed, the FA would not have seen their names on it. Once the OP and friend made the flight, the GA would have checked them back onto the flight. Because they had already been upgraded into F, their PNRs now reflect this class of service. They would have been automatically seated into F, not Y.

Perhaps this is the way it really happened. Hard to say without looking at the history of this flight.
