Nothing yet, of course.

They're in Terminal A at IAH.

Not much by any means (and still far behind where the need to be) but there is something.

Instead, there is the pda upgrade system, which requires more effort but accomplishes the same thing.

I actually prefer the PDA site to screens in the gate area. I can check my PDA from the lounge or anywhere else. And I can get the info when I want I want it instead of waiting for it to cycle through the screens.

No question about it. Also, there is more privacy.

But it is still a little more work.

And, of course, you have to have a pda...

To put it in a little perspective, in addition to the hacking of the FFP as ALCO mentioned, CO is also stepping-up their IFE. Roll-out begins this year for the domestic fleet.

And to put the CO IFE "enhancements" into perspective, they'll cost you $$$$....

Yes. I was 80%+ in my last year flying as a platinum (2006). In 2007 I was still platinum but only flew enough to requalify as silver. And I was still upgraded on most of my flights.

TV will in coach. Internet won't in either cabin. Although the Internet is not full access, I'd rather that for free than TV of any sort, paid or free. The majority of folks polled at the last Do in Houston had similar feelings.

I'm looking forward to seeing just how limited the internet service is before rendering a verdict one way or the other, but right now I'm happy with the approach CO has taken to their IFE plans.

Yes I'd be interested too. You can mark my word that it will be very limited. If the only free stuff is like access to aol email or continental.com....well I won't be too interested.

I still think it would be nice to have the CO standard nasty old sitcom reruns for free...because it's better than nothing...but then again it might steal business from the revenue stream they're trying to create.

I have been getting a lot of practice lately flying CO with no IFE at all as it seems like so few planes I've been on have it...so I'll be ready for when they start charging ;)

DL has really been upgrading their product. I'm going to miss them when we can no longer redeem our CO miles on DL. I've usually found them to have better award availability than CO (out of the West Coast), and they have good Caribbean routes.

I've also been impressed with their BusinessElite service. While their seat is a hair dated, it's comfortable, and their food is generous and very well done. They also have the AVOD as has been mentioned, and they do a few additional touches like big pillow and blanket. Long story short, BusinessElite is nearly as good as flying on some European carriers' business class product.

So to answer the OP's question, I don't think that's wrong. The only conflict you're experiencing is the conflict of CO's marketing ("we're the best") and the reality you've experienced ("CO is OK").

I think that if you fly a number of carriers, you'll find that no single carrier excels in everything.

The only thing wrong is this has nothing to do with OnePass.

Not so in my case. 44% as CO Plat and 100% as DL Gold. Both flying out of NYC and DC areas.

No it was not! That 44% upgrade average was while you were a CO Gold and then partialy a CO Plat. You calimed you got a status match to DL soon after becoming a CO Plat.

Well, OK.

But which is easier? Looking up at a screen in the terminal (a la DL) or firing up your laptop, connecting to the internet and logging on to CO's pda site?

So lets see with CO you can use:
1. PDA
2. Cellphone
3. Any computer/laptop

and with DL you can use:
1. Screen at the gate only

I think I like the variety of options that CO has.

Since I'm only in the gate area for the ~15 minutes before I board my flight I'd say that my PDA is much easier. Or on my laptop in the PC. Or at my desk. Or on the train to the airport. Or standing in line waiting for the TSA. Or sitting on the plane after boarding and waiting to confirm that the GAs process the list so I can move up. Of course that last one is something that DL doesn't care about as they just pull you off the upgrade list if you board while still in Y, right?
