757 Question

Do the seats in the rows forward of exit rows recline? I heard from a friend that they do not. On a 757 for example, do row 14 seats recline?

ON the 757-300 the seats in row 20 do surprisingly recline eventhough Seatguru says no, they do not have the full recline but I'd say they go back about 2-2.5 inches.

On my recent 757-200 trip I lost my seat in WX confusion and got stuck in row 11, the regular seats on a 200 recline WAY TO FAR, like into me knees and face.
I don't think I could do a trip to europe in economy on a 757, at least not in the non exit rows.

It was the first time for me to get stuck in an economy seat (non exit row) this year, so all is not lost. :)

The 752 is the one of the only planes that you can still get domestically that will have five inches of recline. Three inches is absolutely terrible, please don't give CO any reason to consider reducing international planes' Y recline!!

If you choose a row DIRECTLY in front of an exit row you cannot recline.

Then they don't need to make my tickets 'no board' if they don't want me complaining :D

^Correct. Rows 14 and 15 do not recline. Makes my regular 16F seat very comfortable :)

Are they completely no recline or just limited? I know that there are rules about clearance for the exits, but that doesn't mean that the rows in front are necessarily stuck with zero recline. It depends on the carrier and the configuration, as I recall.

This thread has me nervous... am flying to LAX soon on a 757... curious if 22AB on a 757-300 are the best exit row seats to grab for best leg room and comfort?

If you're sure you are on a 757-300, row 22 offers the best leg room on these aircraft. If I couldn't sit there I'd choose somewhere on the right hand side, 10-19 DEF, where there is slightly more room between the rows.

Agreed, 22A is my regular seat on these A/C when not upgraded and it's fine.

Row 8 ABC have essentially unlimited legroom. I'm 6'3" and prefer 8A when relegated to the back (which is rare on those birds).

That is the equipment listed for the flight as of now, but this is a few months out, so an equipment change is possible, right?

So for a 6'5" person, would 22A or 8A be better? :) My wife is 5'4" so not like she cares about the leg room one bit :)

Besides getting off the plane quicker, is there a benefit of 8A over 22A?

The last time I flew on CO, I was so crushed by the recline of the person in front of me, I assume CO was not interested in my business nor that of anyone over 5' 10". That was a few years ago. I see nothing has changed.
