So for a 6'5" person, would 22A or 8A be better? :) My wife is 5'4" so not like she cares about the leg room one bit :)

Besides getting off the plane quicker, is there a benefit of 8A over 22A?

The disadvantage of 8A is immovable seat dividers/armrests, so if you're wide that could be an issue. The plus of those is that if there's a Sumo wrestler next to you, he/she can't flow over the armrest into your space.

Correct. tall people should avoid Continental coach unless they can snag an exit-row seat that has extra legroom.

I was able to always get an exit row as a Silver... unless I bought the day of and everything was booked already in exit...

Then I just took the Y up and rode in the front, didn't care anymore :) LOL

I'll stick with 22A I'm thinking, so I can raise the divider and have my wife next to me :)

Hopefully will get the upgrade 5 days out, and be able to companion upgrade her to the front as well... but worst case, want to make sure we are comfortable :)

About 2 days out, assuming they are not needed for crew rest.

They do this even on domestic flights which can be rather annoying!

+1...one of my pet peeves. Seriously...is there really a need to block those seats on the EWR-Florida 752 flights? Clearly a programming issue...

Completely disagree - it's great for anyone booking a flight late. I regularly will book 3-4 days out for transatlantic flights in Y, or other 752 flights and it's great to still have a good choice of seats - unlike on most other a/c types that CO operates.

Agree fully I book FL flights 90% of the time normally 1-2 weeks out at a max and the blocked seats rock :D It ensures I get a non middle seat MOST of the time or exit row.

Row 8ABC. It is the first row of Y class seating when you enter the plane. It has about 3 feet of space for your legs. The arm rests do not go up. A galley is on your right and a FA jumpseat is in front of you.

Confusing now, 22AB or 8AB... that is the question :)

22 -- no question about it.

That is what I figured, as the seats are wider (not being squished for 3.5hrs is best) and not right by the lavatory with tons of foot traffic...

Only benefit is getting off the plane a few seconds faster which is no biggie...

Cool, leaving my seat confirmed at 22AB for now :)
