What Arrivals facility does CO use at LHR?

Thanks.

Earlier in the year, it was the Yotel. Regardless, you'll need to check with the BF concierge before departure.

It is indeed Yotel in Terminal 4...exit arrivals and go up one level next to the Weatherspoons. Check with BF concierge on arrival as well. No food or beverages - literally a pod for you to shower and change.

I haven't seen many but it might be nice to get some trip reports posted from CO LHR pax now that it has been a few months since CO moved OPS there.

I for one am curious as I flew LGW down to the last days.

Yotel Experience

This was the oddest experience I have had. I didnt' know what to expect but upon arrival as I was used to the facilities at LGW. Wow, this is not that for sure. It was a bit of an adventure finding the Yotel but I finally did. The check in was very easy, I just told them I was a Continental passanger wanting to use the shower and they asked my name and then gave me a key. They were very polite. Then you go into these pods as previously mentioned. You lug your luggage up a few stairs and then down this hall and pods are on either side. You then go down a few steps into your pod through the door... They are not that big but it all seemed so odd. You walk into this space which is barely enough room for you and your luggage. To the one side is this bed which is a bit like being on a bed on a boat, kind of a cubbie hole thing and the other side of the middle area is the toilet/sink/shower all in a space of about 3 by 6 feet. It wasn't a horrible experience, the room was clean, just didn't seem to fit the atmostphere CO had crated in its shower facilities at LGW. I must confess though after a nice long shower, i did lay down on the bed and fell asleep for a couple hours. They phoned the room (there is a phone and tv in the room in the bed cubicle) and woke me up. I laughed and told them I had fell alsleep and they said no problem. So all in all not a bad experience, just not what I expected. The nap actually was nice and they never asked me for money for staying longer.

I am flying BF to LHR in May and I had a question regarding Yotel.

Since they give you a "pod" and it really isn't a lounge, can one invite a guest who is not traveling BF? Reason I ask is that I am meeting up with one of my friends who will be arriving in London at the same time. We had planned on booking a pod at Yotel anyway since we would both like to shower before hitting the town...but if I am already going to get a pod as part of the benefit of traveling BF will they give me heartache about this? Or should I just book a pod on my own?

Also on the subject of LHR, anyone know if Continental gives out Fast Track passes for immigration for BF customers?

No, they are not given out. I heard (take with a grain of salt) that it was being worked on, but it was something contractual that needed to be worked out with BA. Who knows though.

I for one would really like to see these available for us to give out on the plane to our BF customers. A TON of people ask for them.

Fast track is a BAA product, nothing to do with British Airways. It's run by the airport operator BAA, for carriers that wish to pay the substantial cost of using the facility. Currently in Terminal 4, Arrivals Fast Track is only used by BA for their early morning arrivals.

The normal opening hours were 6am-12pm.

BAA are actually talking about removing the facility, due to lack of demand (or lack of interest) from a number of carriers.

make it a bit cheaper and see if people jump on it.
 business some people just don't deserve to be in charge!

I posted my thoughts about this situation in this post last year. After having now experienced both the Yotel and the LGW Arrivals facility, I stand by that statement. It boggles the mind ...

I just got off the phone with Elite line and they made no mention of Yotel-said there was nothing for arrivals at LHR. We are flying BF next week to LHR. They told me a few days ago that had an arrangement with Virgin Atlantic-that proved to be untrue after I called them. Continental also told me there was not departure lounge for their BF/Elite. Can anyone verify that?

Welcome to FlyerTalk!

It is unfortunate that you were fed so much false information. There was never an arrangement with the VS Revivals lounge. The Yotel deal is still available. And on departure you'll have access to the Holideck lounge if you're in BF.

Ouch. The BF concierge on departure to LHR can make arrangements for the arrival facility (Yotel in LHR). Get directions when you arrive - I had some trouble finding it. You get directions and a pass to the Holideck when you check in for BF. The arrival facilities for BF are listed on co.com: http://www.continental.com/web/en-US...t/showers.aspx

I just finished a *stay* at the Yotel - and I loved it. If what you're looking for is a cookie cutter hotel room, you're not going to like it. Granted it's not a standard sized room at a hotel, but there is plenty of room for what you need and the showers/linens are great! You can order food from the Galley.

It is still being used by CO for arrivals: I saw someone presenting his boarding pass at the door. I'm not sure about the hauling luggage up and down stairs: there is a ramp at the door, and my cabin had no stairs.

Although I didn't use it as an arrivals facility, I did ask the concierge who met my flight how to get to it, and she gave very clear and precise directions.

I also had a drink at the Hilton, and for arrivals I'd much prefer the Yotel. The Hilton is a 15 minute walk from the terminal, and at 6 am in the morning, after a red eye, that would be a trek.
