Thank you for all of the responses! I was not sure if the food served would be sub standard because i was leaving from Columbus and not a HUB.

RIP transcon meal service. Jambalaya or hamburger is a very depressing way to go to PDX!

There are a few 738's (and possibly 739 non-ER's) that have airshow on the drop-down screens.

A friend, when served his meal on a lunch flight from EWR to IAH, had this to say about his first class meal; "this is a First class meal?" He thought it looked and tasted worse than his Economy meals from DXB to JFK on EK.

Is it apples and oranges?

CAL PHL FLYER Nov 30, 2008 6:56 pm

I bet that first class meal would taste good to a starving child somewhere in the world..

So what will it be?

ijgordon Mar 5, 2011 3:12 pm

Seafood appetizer (usually smoked salmon or lobster), salad, choice of 3 main courses (usually meat, fish, pasta/veggie), ice cream sundae. The main courses are usually similar to those being offered in businessFirst, but not sure if it would be, say the exEWR choices or the westbound choices. But look at the other Europe routes to get an idea.

Wait a sec - you sure? The Hawaii BF-lite menu looks remarkably similar to what I've experienced on CO transcons (and 5+ hr "International Business Class") flights, though admittedly it's been 2 years or so for me on a transcon.

As are the plates. What's in them is only slightly different.

You get a separate salad and appetizer, choice of 3 mains and you still get the ice cream sundae for dessert.

This is what they looked like in August:
