Weird. Elite line gave me a different answer and the woman I talked to really seemed to know her stuff on this. Maybe it is because I have a new CO account and just signed up for it a week and a half ago (but before my flights..).

Go figure. Glad it's working for you!

For anyone who is wondering (like I was), the miles aren't posting yet for January 2009 flights. They will kick off running the program in February and at that point the 50% bonus miles will be applied retroactively to 2009 flights that you've already taken. After that, I believe the batch job for this program will run every Thursday throughout the year, but I could have mistaken that.

(If this is common knowledge on the CO board, sorry for bumping an old thread -- it's new to me and I thought others might be wondering where their 50% bonus miles are, too.)

peace,
~Ben~

I've received credit for flights taken on 1/4 and 1/11. I took one on 1/13 which has not posted yet.

Last year they usually posted every other Friday or Saturday night and were inclusive of flights which had posted to your account by the previous Tuesday.

Our 1/8 flights posted the Extra Miles on 1/17. Our 1/15 flights posted their regular mileage on 1/17 and I expect the Extra Miles to post on 1/30 or 1/31.

Last year, being new to CO, I worried about them. This year, I know they'll catch up - but I still track them. We'll finish the program in May when we pass 35,000 EQM's.

Extra Miles for our 1/15 flights posted last night.

My 1/13 miles posted last night as well

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5G77 Safari/525.20)

Nice to see that these are posting much faster compared to previous years!

There are FT'ers who have enrolled in this program and who would like to see it expanded as is evidenced by the responses do far in the thread but I would venture a guess that those enrollees who will have taken full advantage of their option by year end are in a minority for the program overall.

Well, when G wrote this, before the Great Economic Crunch, DO IV, and DEQM, no one knew that prices would be so low and CO would offer the Elite-Status-Twice-As-Fast (ESTAF) DEQM program. Since the Extra Mile Bonus (EMB) is cheaper than buying miles, and I intended to keep elite status, I bit on the lower tier, $125: http://www.continental.com/web/en-US...romoCode=A6187 (and there is a cheaper Asian-resident one, AC9M06, out there)
Offer 1 - AC9M01 -- Pay $125 and receive a 50% mileage bonus on all flights up to 12,500 bonus miles.
Offer 2 - AC9M02 -- Pay $175 and receive a 50% mileage bonus on all flights up to 17,500 bonus miles.

Ramp forward to May, and I made Platinum, thanks to ESTAF doubling and low European fares -- but I had maxed out on EMB. I made a quick call to the OPSC to see if I could upgrade to the higher level of EMB. I first got an agent who told me I could pay again and start over on a second EMB for the year -- (never heard of that before!) but he turned out to be wrong. Too bad - I have a nice Australian trip in the Fall...

However, I was told by a supervisor, when I finally got up to one, that we cannot pay the difference to upgrade this due to accounting that would be involved. Since no one predicted that CO would ever do DEQM, I suggested that it be asked if future programs allow such a buy-up upgrade if situations change.

Anybody else out there max out their EMB?

Of course...at the $175 level you only need to fly 35,000 miles to max out.

By the way, the EMB miles don't count toward elite status.

That's why I called them - hoping I could upgrade. They said "no", however...
I'm still have to have the extra miles.

Both NOLAlady and I reached our 17,500 in early May.

Remember, you only got them on base mileage. DEQM and Elite Bonus miled didn't count. Only BIS with 500 mile minimum for Elites.

True, they are not EQM miles, but still nice to have. I maxed out on the 12,500 (the additional EMB miles) just before Gold...( IAH-ATH at 12,705 x 2 at under $500RT each), with hubby along on #2 for a week for Silver renewal (and he loved ATH). So Trip #3 got no EMB. An "upgrade" to the higher option would have been EMB gravy. However, without ESTAF, I wouldn't have even thought about the otherwise-needed 6 RT trips for Plat from my previous Silver 25% bonus base.
Will be checking how to use the EMB miles for int'l upgrades, e.g., those long flights to Asia. Will be plotting how to keep at least Gold next year, ESTAF or not in 2010....

Give it another weekend. They usually post every other weekend and you missed 9/6-7 since your 9/5 hadn't even posted the base mileage by then.
