Access refused to PC in LAS
CO prouds itself to haven opened a new PC in LAS, D-Gates. I intended to try it out today and presented a coupon that should have allowed me free access (not from Chase bank but an original CO coupon!). The two unfriendly dragons at the front desk declared that the coupon had expired - despite the fact that it did not have ANY expiration date! Despite travelling on a FC ticket and being a Gold Elite, they were not willing to accept their own company coupon but offered me a 45 USD daypass instead.
I respectfully declined this blatant attempt to create additional income. Anyone with similar experiences in regard to PC coupons without expiration date? A fine way to piss off loyal customers! |

At some PC's around the system I've seen signs stating that XXX/YYY series of coupons (with no expiration date, IIRC) would no longer be valid after a certain date. Don't know what pass you were trying to use but maybe it was one of those.
That said it seems like poor form of CO - or any company - to impose expiration dates after the fact for a pre-purchased pass/gift-card/etc. |
I think the pres club card is still available for purchase.

Also don't forget: AMEX Platinum gets you free access to the CO, NW, DL, and AA lounges as long as you fly one of those airlines.

Maybe the LAS dragons were trained at EWR. That would explain it;)

You can only access that airlines club if you are flying that airline when trying to access the club with AMEX Platinum. I think it's a stupid rule but that is it :( I tried to access NW club 2 weeks ago in Seattle when flying Delta and they wouldn't give me access.

Sorry to hear of your problems. Those were well publicied that they expired. I think that I heard they had a problem with people making their own. They stopped accepting those and I thought I had seen the signs in a lot of the clubs to this date but I may just be an old member and recall the old days.

those passes expired years ago. i believe they were the passes that elites were given as part of the yearly elite package.
they were easily duplicated and I can only assume that was the reasoning for their gradual expiration. CO did all they could do to announce, advertise and display that these passes (pics and all) would expire. unless you're a new gold elite, and have not had status for any of the last 3 or 4 years, you would have clearly seen the notices posted at every entrance of every PC. it sucks, but they had to do something to eliminte the fraud. |

Anyone who does any time of retail business would know to put expiration dates on coupons (even if it's two or three years). |
Most likely they were trying to make them of more value vs. less. I do wonder why they didnt just offer a reduced admit like $20 if you had the coupon. Still cheaper than the $40 or $45 and covers the basic cost of the guest. Kinda a win/win in my opinion.
I do wonder how the guest counts are doing in the new LAS PC though. I do hope that they are up and showing CO that they made the right move. |
I was in the LAS PC last Friday around noontime and there were about 10 people in there. It's a great club, but it was pretty quiet
