Does anyone know how this has changed since the * change? I'm flying MIA-EWR and would like to know if there is lounge access at MIA. I am UA * Gold, and hold a RCC membership. The Continental Website says there is a contract lounge, but doesn't give much information.

The skyClub is there, but access is only open till the end of Jan to PClub members, not *A.
I fly to FLL and use the PClub, while it is small it is nothing like the old CRC was at MIA, much much nicer than the dump that was the CRC. |
Sounds like I'll be looking at FLL. Thanks.

CO moved to the new terminal during the ST days, so it made perfect sense. id imagine they're stuck there for a while. hopefully they can get to a terminal where a *A carrier has a lounge. that'd would great for US based *golds. would that move even be possible? edited to add... checked MIA. all it says is that there is a contract lounge available to eligible *G's. no other info available. |
Although the OP won't be able to access it, the new CRC in Miami is excellent, one of their best clubs in the system.

I was just wondering as CO.com http://www.continental.com/web/en-US...affiliate.aspx does say that there is an affiliated lounge MIA (contract lounge) open to "Eligible Star Alliance Gold Members" ...which I would assume to be any non-USA program based Star Gold member on a domestic itin--which would include, I assume, BD Star Golds. I suspect there is something that LH and Swiss use...far away from the CO gates. LH uses something called "Club America" (interim facility) for its star golds...pre-security location :(.
And as you said, the *A contract lounge isn't even behind security. MIA is trying to improve, but nothing happens fast in that airport! |
I usually fly out of FLL. I volunteered and gave up my seat but had to go to MIA to get my flight. I had almost 3 hours till the flight left. CO has no MIA club but at that time
we could use the DL club. Only problem, DL gates and club is on a different concourse then my CO gate and security would not let me down the concourse because I was flying CO and my gate was not on the DL concourse. I guess I could have gone to CO and got a pass to get through security but from you tell me about the MIA club it would not have been worth it. Does have a similar issue trying to access a club in a different part of an airport and you can't get by security. Every airport is different. At LGA, the CO club is before security. I have used the club many times when I was not flying CO. Same at SFO. At CLE, some years ago they moved the security checkpoints so once you clear security you have access to the entire airport. So if I fLY WN, I can go to the CO club. |
I was there today...at least that part of the airport is decent. Some parts of the airport are just horrible....so we're lucky that we have at least a decent area to wait in.
