Not sure about that, but it doesn't start until February 1, so you do have the opportunity to not miss anything.

It's not just the "R" class.

Here's the fine print:
"Online check-in and booking credits will be awarded only for A, C, J, D, Z, Y, H, K, M, N, B, O, V or U fare classes."

Last year we had 2 of 24 (1 M and 1 N) This year'll be the same with more flights at bottom fare classes. I guess that this part of the 'Targeted' group is being incentivized to spend more for each tix which is not gonna happen here since none of ours is subsidized by a company. The only way we'll see more than the lowest Mileathon level is if our Chase Banker decides to comp the Mrs a Continental Airlines Presidential Plus Card.

Yes... just seemed that "R" ought to earn at least as much as, "H"... or even "K".

Darn, I am not targeted for this offer. I could have used it to encourage me to visit IAH more. The gf would like surprise visits.

I have 3 RT flights the first week of February. It would be a shame if I can't take advantage of this.

Does anyone out there know if you will get mileathon credits for flights taken during the promo period but booked/paid for earlier?

patalan Jan 28, 2008 9:07 pm

Quite odd in my opinion....3 CO Plats in the household and only 2 of us were invited to register for the offer of the milethon. I wonder what the criteria is to be invited?

My husband and I used to be targeted different quarters - 07 4th quarter was the first time we'd been targeted together. This quarter baglady jr. got it so I think they just like to spread the love around :)

I spoke to the onepass service center today and they said it is really for flight flown during the time, so that even if purchased before hand as long as travel is during hte stated dates I am ok.

My mom, a first time Silver, got the offer today but not me! I would love something like this to keep me on my toes for a few months..

fireworksboy Feb 25, 2008 1:07 pm

My final final results are in from my 4Q 2007 Mileathon are in and I only scored 112 credits resulting in 15K miles. In 2006 I was able to score 100K. Anyone think they got high score for ths round?

LAhatetofly Feb 25, 2008 1:26 pm

Is there any way to see the Mileathon status on CO.com? I thought I signed up, but now when I go back to Deals and Offers I don't see it anymore...

What's the most cost effective way of earning credits for the Mileathon?

My initial thought was that booking discount fares online and checking in online was the best approach (4+1+2=7 credits per flight). However, in my limiting searching for qualifying fares, I've found that they are generally pretty expensive and typically at least $70 per ticket higher than the lowest discount fare for the same itinerary. Maybe the best approach is to book cheap car rentals or hotel stays?
