I have 24,203 Elite miles right now. I am flying SNA-OAK-SNA in a couple of weeks on Alaska Airlines..... 372 miles each way. The Continental website says I will receive "A minimum 500 base miles", so I assume I will get 1000 miles for the roundtrip. My question is.... Even though I will apparently be credited with 1000 miles, will those 1000 miles all be EQM, or will the EQM be only the actual miles flown... i.e. 744 miles?
minimum 500 miles per segment
U, Y, S, B, M, H, Q, L, V, K, G, T class fares on Alaska earn 100% EQM. You receive a minimum of 500 miles per segment, and the entire 500 miles counts toward elite status. As long as your fare class falls in those listed above, you will receive 100% of 500 miles per segment with a total of 1000 EQM for the round trip.
I see you are flying SNA-OAK-SNA, so you must be flying Alaska metal. That will be fine. Keep in mind Alaska codeshares operated by AA do not accrue CO OP miles (and IIRC, those are R class fares).
Happy flying!
