IIRC, Delta's screen also showed order of who is eligible for upgrades.

The way Delta does it is they show the last three letters of your last name and the first initial of your first name. For example, John Smith shows up as SMI/J on the list. That way it keeps it pretty private in regards to who is who and the person that is affected can figure out who he is.

Exact same thing at AA. First three letters of last name plus first initial.

Thanks for the clarification.

When CO implements something similar they should use FT handles .

THAT would be cool to have on CO flights...

Not to be the cynic...buuuut....CO can not even get this correct on their website or ticket purchase page. If you need any evidence, buy an EWR-Florida ticket and get 2 bags of peanuts as "LUNCH":(

Maybe we could have a line, "FCTSTY says 'bring/no bring' " for the food line?:D:D

Scott, thanks for the info. It's great to know these kinds of things are on your radar screen :)

As for the food comment... I think unless you are guaranteed to be in First, the way things are today you should always plan on hitting McD's, PizzaHut, Joe's popcorn stand - or whatever floats your boat - on your way to the gate. I was so far down that stand-by list from DFW that I didn't think to run and get a carry-out, but was "fortunate" enough to get a bag of chips and a candy bar from the AA cart for just $6(!). Dinner of champions.

PS - I wasn't offered any free peanuts either!

COInsider: Would CO consider adding a mobile device element to this feature, so one's upgrade or standby status can be checked on a mobile device?

Hi TWA Fan 1, the short answer is yes, we are indeed considering this. Several FlyerTalkers have made this suggestion, and we agree that there's more to this initiative than just gate displays. Stay tuned!

Wow, this is excellent news! The cherry on that sundae would be knowing where you stood in the EUA pile as well, from say 7 days out up through departure - knowing you were the 15th Platinum on a flight with 12 seats would indicate your EUA chances were roughly zilch and to relax about it, while being the 2nd or 3rd Platinum at EUA run-time would give you some confidence you will wake up with a treasure waiting in your inbox.

Is that part of the plan? Or is the system just being designed for day-of-departure upgrade list status?
