It probably would be productive to go over to the Starwood Austin MegaDo thread in Community Buzz and read the first few posts by Starwood Lurker and then those by him and by TexasYankee (including milepost #361) later on.

If they like Indian, they should check out Clay Pit.

My favorite (and Hartmann will cringe) is Vivo on east side. Food ok - atmosphere is fab. Too bad it's cold here right now, the patio is great. The margs are strong.

In fact any of the Manor road restaurants are good - East Side Cafe, El Chiles, Hoovers, etc.

Tons of options downtown. Malaga (tapas) is good - pretty reasonable although a bit trendy. Whatever they do, avoid Garridos - it's a rip-off.

South Congress Cafe (on South Congress) is good and enables a nice stroll down the street (lots of shops and bars) after dinner.

Of course not; just making sure I get the appropriate amount of grains.

Flyer_70 Feb 1, 2010 5:54 pm

Austin Trailer Park is good for tacos or hot dogs or.. cake balls.

I'm assuming they don't want to BBQ all week and require some form of ruffage?

Clay Pit is good, Eastside Cafe, El Chile, North, South Congress Cafe, Juan in a Million (breakfast), Texas French Bread (fantastic sandwiches), and if they like good sushi and don't mind spending the $$$, Uchi

Mansion at Judges' Hill?

If they are not big meat eaters, they will like Vivo (tex mex) which has some veg options.

And too bad they are not meat eaters - I would have sent them to Cafe Buenos Aires - good stuff.

I am booked on the JFK-MEX departing this Friday, returning on Saturday.
