Thanks. I plan on averaging >80, but like you said any little hiccup along the way would lead to much stress. ugh....3am it is.

My route to PHL or to the hockey rink is to go over to 295 at Mt. Laurel (exit 4) and take that directly to the Walt Whitman (bearing left at the fork to the N-S Xway). The only problem is that 295 is a much more dangerous road than the Tpke on which to try to make time. But IMO, if you are careful, that is still better than 73, 38, and Admiral Wilson to the Ben Franklin or the White Horse Pike route to the WW.

You should look at Amtrak to SEPTA. The late-night/early-morning trains are pretty cheap and always on-time. (There's one that leaves NYP at 3:00 AM and gets to Philly at 4:35).

Depending on what you take, Amtrak will run your around $94 round-trip (less if you can do student, AAA, or any of the other discounts). Add to that no parking fees, no gas, a virtually guaranteed on-time arrival, and 90 minutes of sleep en route and I think it's a win.

If you go this route, set an alarm ... you don't want to sleep your way into DC ;)

Taking advantage of Thursday's PHL-YVR fare to have lunch in Vancouver tomorrow. Unfortunately it's a 6:22am flight out of PHL. I haven't done that drive in a while...is 3:30am* departure from Manhattan doable?

*(damn that's early! :( )

I'm still highly annoyed about missing out on that air fare.

Good Evening, Box.

I'm at GIG right now, waiting for CO128 GIG-IAH. The flight is delayed due to MX. Initial delay was supposed to be 12 hours , but is now down to just one hour. Meanwhile, I have just been introduced to the contract lounge at GIG, thanks to :-:G status. I can't compare it to the PCs in IAH, but it's nice. Some snacks, soft drinks and beer. Wi-fi is slow but bearable.

Since my original layover at IAH is a little over two hours, a one hour delay could be troublesome. I convinced the agent to protect me on a later flight in case I can't make CO378 tomorrow. I must confess that this is a nice trick I learned at FT. As soon as I mentioned the word "protection", she started to look for seats on later flights. A big thanks to you all for teaching me so much good stuff here! ^

Just finished an Opinion Place survey for more AA miles. I'm making progress on that 1M...slowly:rolleyes:

Good idea and I'll keep it in mind for next time...unfortunately the 3am is $82 each ONE WAY. $300 roundtrip for 2 of us. Driving it is.

Not only helping. I have just noticed that I was upgraded on the flight I'm protected, so right now I have mixed feelings: hope for a short delay, so I can make my original flight and enjoy the afternoon in SFO, or hope for a longer delay, enjoy the lounge for another hour, fly to IAH, enjoy a few hours of the terminal E PC and finally get a BF seat so SFO? I'm spoiled :D

Ops, they are calling my flight. Time to go!

Have a fantastic flight! May an upgrade await you on the earlier flight.
