After taking the Acela regularly for the past six years, I think the point of it is to price out the kettles and allow business travelers a slightly less congested product, albeit at a huge price premium. The 40-minute time savings between DC and NY doesn't hurt, either. Then you have some of the off-peak and weekend Acelas (like the one I'm taking back on Sunday) that are only $15-20 more than regular regional coach trains around the same time of day (???).

At least Acela has free wifi now.

I need some 'help' over in the Hyatt certs thread -- some idiot is being snarky towards me for clearly not giving him the answer he wants & then 'accusing' me of misleading him! :confused: Most importantly -- he is attacking my PWP prowess!:eek::rolleyes:

Not joining them on the trip, unfortunately, although I wish I were. My current travel schedule has me at 25k Eqms at the end of April; I need to get on that ASAP.
