I pretend they are amusement rides. Turbulance is more fun on the little fellows.

the gentle vibrations are better than those massage chairs at the airport any day of the week.

I love insane twisty, backwards facing , looping, g pulling rides, no wonder I like the little birds.

I have only had Texas giant level vibrations on a 764 :)

(for those that don't know Texas Giant is a wooden roller coaster at Six Flags over TX, it is getting old, and each year passing by makes it more and more rough as the woods age. It will shake you like not much else)

Almost didn't get married becuase the X was afraid of roller coasters (darn he went on one so I said yes). My kids and I have tried 100's of them (possibly 1000's). I've become less of a fan of the rough ones as I age.

I like them still, but I prefer the sheer starting speeds, top speeds, loops and forward/backwards possibilities of the newer steel kind better myself.

When SFOT(mentioned prior) had the new batman themed coasters I was living within 40 miles both of the times, and I purchased season tickets for the intro years both times (maybe they have a 3rd batman themed now, can't remember).

Season tickets were only about 20% more than a single day pass, and one day I hit the jackpot. So few people in the park, and I love the ride so much, the staff was allowing those that kept riding to exit (they REQUIRED exit, or safety) to loop back around in the building instead of leaving at the exit and walking all the way around again. That was a good day.

I've been in theme parks where they have a soft launch (i.e. was able to ride over-and-over again and no one knew they were open). Also found in FL go in immediately have the t-storms have passed and you have the place to yourself.

The bobsled track during christmas season was always a fav of mine as well, the chill added to it immensely, it was just wrong going on a bobsled in 99-110 degree heat :)

In Colorado they turned ski slopes in the summer into a ride where you are on this little board with wheels in concrete channels. If you don't break on the turns you wipe out on the gravel. I saw major carnage on that ride and had to go down awfully fast when my 5 year old son at the time riding in the channel next to me didn't appear to be using the break at all.

WOW? You have lost that much weight? congrats!
Never would have known meeting you after the fact of much of that 'loss' on your part!

Thanks! Yeah, I had been a "big" guy for more or less all of my childood and the beginnings of adulthood, but decided to make a CHANGE...to my fitness at about the same time CO announced its switch to Star Alliance. I figured the smaller size and increased energy would come in handy for 1) sitting in non-EBBDSR seats on the Star partner airlines (who generally don't preassign exit row or bulkhead seats to *G pax) and 2) to facilitate making the tight connections at the Germanic *A hubs.

I've done that too, and when I was younger and parents took me, it was in a burlap sack down the slide :D

I think I was less than 5 at the time, but I distinctly remember faceplanting into the sand at the end of the track!

You had nice parents. Mine parents thought a thrill ride was 3 kids in the back seat of a car with no AC.

Once the era of socialist upgrade ration cards finally comes to an end at United, our carriers will reciprocate upgrades.
