Priority bag Tags
 

I was waiting for a flight from MCI to IAH that was delayed earlier and I just so happened to come across an 'unattented" stack of priority luggage tags. long story short, I took them because they were not even at the CO desk. What should I do with them? Any money to be made? i've got at least 100

There's not much to be done with them, as they are put onto the use-once bag tags by the agent at checkin time. From that point on you won't see your bag until it is returned to you. Why not return them to CO? They have far more use for them than you do.

And what makes you think that CO would not realize that someone was somehow using stolen tags, even if you could somehow slip them onto the luggage claim strip without the agent knowing? In this crazy environment you might have been caught on some video tape and now be considered a risk to national security.

Note that these tags denote on the tag itself a printed "VIP" to advise agents of elite or "elite for a day" status.

Simply placing the tags on your bag may get you preferential treatment for a trip or two, but there are watchful agents that monitor the integrity of this earned status.

I would suggest turning them in to CO.

But you really can't put these onto your bag yourself. CO agents put the tags on and (when appropriate) slip the priority card in. At most airports you have no access to your bag from then until it appears at your destination. Even if you do have access, undoing the glue to slip the tag in is an invitation to its falling completely off. Would you like to take a chance of the tag coming off in exchange for priority handling? I wouldn't.

I feel like an issue like this could undue the integrity of this message board. Just return them, I doubt you would have any real use for them as mentioned above.

Should have stolen a blue carpet instead. At least that's worth something. :p

I would say just recycle them and move on with life.

Oh yeah...they are worth something...100 tags and $2 will get you a ride on the NY subway...:p :D

I was putting my bags under the seat in the cockpit the other day and noticed an entire pack of Continental Airlines Cocktail Napkins just lying there on the jumpseat.

What a missed opportunity....... :D

This whole thread reminds me of the cool Cisco IP phones they used to have at the Presidents Clubs...that they had to remove when people started stealing them. Just remember that ultimately the passenger pays when someone takes advantage of the airline.
