My First Time
walking proudly past the "others," strutting my sh!t to seat 8L, nabbed at the airport on the advice of this board...little Scotch on the rocks...envious looks by the commoners who trickle by...a wink at a cute girl...a nod at a jealous businessman...a narcoleptic aviation insurance adjuster in 8K who slept through all the meal service and everything...6 courses of scrumptious food that was unfortunately served a little too slowly for my liking -- they didn't finish until there was only 3.5 hours left, so while my sleep was MUCH more comfortable this time, I actually got about 2 hours more when I flew with the commoners....but never again, if I can help it. The blue cheese and melon was worth it. I would request larger portions, though. Does CO have a policy on seconds? :p
My only real complaint (because what is an FT post without one?!) is that the seat itself was actually quite hard. I loved the recline, though. It was too short a flight to really enjoy all they had to offer, I didn't even whip out my....TV. Flying back EDI-EWR I nabbed 16A, so didn't have anyone reclining into me -- all the legroom in the world. Shoulder room, with the guy next to me, was tough to come by. AND, almost the best part -- my first upgrade of the year, EWR-DCA!! A shame they wouldn't let me take my frozen yogurt on the plane, which I was clearly eating. I even pointed out that it was FROZEN yogurt, thus a solid permissible, but she made me eat it before I got on. Weak. Time to continue recovering from my trip... |
