CO 90 Diverted to CLE
A passenger onboard CO 90 from LAX to EWR just called to say they were diverted to CLE after the aircraft was in a lengthy holding pattern near EWR. The plane apparently ran low on fuel and diverted to CLE.
Any idea why it would go to CLE and not BOS or someplace closer? Is there something even more unusual going on at EWR, besides bad weather and the terrorist warning? |
Looking at the map on flightaware.com, they were put on a holding pattern over Toledo, OH, just before CLE. Not close to EWR.

Nasty storms just rolled through EWR within the past hour......

CO16 LAX-EWR also went to CLE.
Probably more flights diverted too. |

A friend of mine is a CoEX FA and she was the FA on a flight to EWR that has diverted to Philly and has been there about 1.5 hours in the penalty box.
