I totally blanked on Northwest's A330s, now I look like an .... :p

The point is still valid, Continental is accepting new aircraft, most others aren't. The fleet as a whole is very young compared to the competition, so I don't find calling Continental's fleet 'aging' to be appropriate given the fact that I just rode a 1968-vintage DC-9-30 last week with Northwest that is nearly older than I am.

Regarding J.Edward's proposal of another runway at EWR;

The Port of Newark/Elizabeth is one of the busiest in the world, and ranks on par with the airport itself in terms of economic benefit to the region. It would be difficult to justify the outrageous cost associated with the project given the outcome of reduced capacity at the port.

Just got an email from DL yesterday - highlightly the planned enhancements to its product and BE. Included improved food service in BE and seat enhancements. No mention of seating 2-2-2 versus 2-1-2, but of course BE has 60" inch pitch versus BF 55"

To be exact - here are DELTA's enhancements:

- Expanding our international reach to take you almost anywhere in the world, including Accra, Ghana*; Budapest; Edinburgh; and Johannesburg, South Africa*, just to name a few. And, we're adding international kiosks in many cities including Atlanta, Cincinnati, and New York-JFK to make check-in easier

- Refreshing our BusinessElite® cabin with more comfortable all-leather seats, digital on-demand entertainment and tasty new meals

- Updating delta.com to give you more control and make it easier to shop for your next trip

- Serving you our new signature drinks (cocktails and a non-alcoholic beverage) by flight attendants outfitted in fashionable, new uniforms

- Opening new Crown Room Club® lounges in Atlanta and Sao Paulo ^

- Offering double miles for your Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card purchases (through August 31, 2006) and lavishing you with other promotions for the 25th anniversary of the SkyMiles program
