I have never been in a PC that small, but I also have not traveled through SEA. For that matter, I've never been in any other RCC. The one at PHX seemed smaller than the PCs at ATL and SFO, and much smaller than the one in AUS. There were two agents at the front desk, however, and they were very friendly. I'm sure they make life much easier for RCC members when something goes wrong with PHX United flights.

Also, like PCs and WCs CRC's have complimentary beverages. I believe RCCs have cash bars. I don't know whether or not non-alcoholic drinks are complimentary.

I have visited a few RCCs and they have complimentary soft drinks but all other beverages are for a charge.

All RCCs and Admirals Clubs have a cash bar.

I refuse to visit any establishment that charges for alcohol :D

Getting back to the topic, I agree with posters that CO could pick up US Air's old, abandoned club and turn it into a PC. Maybe a CO/NW joint venture that excludes DL

UA has a "drink chit" (certificate) system whereby they give 1Ps and above (I think) 2 chits when they visit an RCC at int'l gateways. Also applies to C and F int'l pax. All others must pay cash, as does anyone who runs out of chits.

I was unaware of the chit system....I always wondered what they did for intl flights where they might have Asian or Europeon natives who are not used to paying for alcohol in business lounges. Your explanation now clears that up.

Ya know, the Skyteam lounges are one of their greatest assets. I wonder why they are not promoted more.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

My guess is that the airline/alliance choices are not based on lounges as much as they are on network coverage and thus spending revenue on lounge promotions probably will not yield an enough added income to pass the break eve point for the promotion.

Just my speculation,
Dan

Yes, it's really overly complicated. Often, the lounge matrons will refuse to give you more than one chit or won't give your guest any chits, and you have to argue your way into getting your fair share of chits. Sometimes, the lounge people claim that they have run out of chits, etc. It's a mess. The PCs are so far superior it's really unbelievable (and cheaper membership rates than the RCC!). The UA int'l F lounges provide unlimited drinks, no chits required.
