"Special" meals

I travel between sna-lgw six to seven times a year, mostly in Y. The meals on the international leg seems to be always the same. Anyone recommend the "special" meals? They always smell/look unique or should I just buy a meal at IAH with the 30 minutes worth of connecting time.

The friut plate is good..and the veggie meal can be good too..usually some type of burritto.

Great question. I have always wondered (been envious) about those getting the "special meal". I don't believe they offer the seafood option anymore.

Can anyone else recommend special meals vs. the usual gruel they serve on Intl flights?

This seems to indicate otherwise, but we all know how dependable CO.com is...

So has anyone tried the special "seafood meal"?

I ordered a diabetic meal once - clearly I won't do so again.
