It was a nice bonus, since I would've shopped at SR anyway.

And I suspect that's the reason the bonus is essentially going away. Almost nobody would alter their behavior for it.

So true....won't impact my shopping habits one iota.

Similar in many respects to Upromise, where you link your store cards to Upromise and occasionally get a few pennies thrown at you for buying "participating" products. I try not to turn down free money so I link my cards, but the fact that a brand "participates" doesn't alter my shopping choices.

And, just like Shoprite and CO, the manufacturers ultimately realize that these miniscule rewards don't drive any real loyalty, so they scale back their participation.

I might be one of the rare birds. While I don't dramatically alter my grocery shopping behavior based solely on FFP miles, I have been steering some of my business away from SR since the program change. Instead of paying a few bucks more on some items at SR, I look for the lowest prices anywhere. It also helps that there are multiple grocery stores on my commute, so that I don't need to go out of my way to save some money. Having said that, I doubt SR will notice an impact with this change (other than paying CO less for the miles!).

Time to post?

I have about 14700 miles in my OP account and I'd like to buy into F on SFO-EWR in late August (in H atm, so just 15k miles and no cash). If I've been enrolled in the ShopRite program and hit the minimum spend by 6/30, will the SR miles post to OP in time for me to have a decent shot at the upgrade? Or should I just do some other stupid non-flying mile accrual to get them faster, like a ShopOnePass merchant...or another idea?

Thanks!
