Has this place changed?

Is it me, or this board wayyyy more hostile since the whole Mastercard debacle? Maybe it has always been this way and I just didn't notice it, but it seems like the vitriol has been out in force since that all went down. It was like a pseudo turning point. Thoughts?

I dont think so, Continental cleared that issue up - it was a stupid mistake they did not even know about.

Perhaps there is just some more than usual tension since the DO for whatever reason, but regardless we're all one happy family arent we?

Read the thread Unnecessary Upgrade BS. I did not think this site was going down hill until I read that thread.

I am getting a deja vu feeling...it's like being at the Delta forum.

I noticed the change...but very recent, within the past few days, and usually by newbies. I would like to see it stop. The CO board has always been a fairly friendly place. If I want hostility, I have a home at the Travel Safety/Security forum :)

I am a relative newbie and even I have seen the spirit of many posts go down the toilet in the past two months. I think posters need to remember that what you type is being read by real people here! We, after all, are not merely screen names! :p It would be wise for all (newbies and oldies haha!) alike to just remember to have a modicum of decorum when posting & replying. :)

"Why don't you use the search function to find an answer?"

This seems to be a favorite reply to ANY post and I think that causes some of the friction. ;)

Does that mean being panty-waisted, polite and politically correct, instead of going for the throat? :)

I hope I never have to choose between a sword and dueling pistol when I post...

Wow this thread even seems friendly :)

Just behave and do exactly what the Plats tell you to do and you'll be fine.
P.S. Inside of 6 feet, take the sword.

I enjoy being the antithesis of panty-waisted, polite and politically correct. And I think you already know the answer to this rhetorical question. That said, however; I see no need to resort to personal attacks while defending my point of view. There is a major difference in the amount of credibility you receive, no matter what your point of view, between calling someone an *sshole rather than outlining your point of view in a clear, well thought out manner.   LOL!

umguy Feb 6, 2006 6:16 pm

Oh boy and we are going downhill. No personal attack.
