Hardpressed to Re-qualify for Plat-HELP

I'm new here gang and need some help. Plat for 4 yrs on CO, then a work change has altered my flying pattern. I'm only at Silver now for '04 - need 19K more for Gold. Any ideas for MR's that could help me out??

Also, in the past CO has offered folks the chance to buy back lost status. Anyone think this will happen this year? If so, would they do it for Silver back to Plat - and at what cost???

Many thanks for any ideas.

A run to SIN will get you about 20 to 25 depending on how you route it. After that a transocn or 2 and you are in business. I have gone from EWR to LAX and than once in LA start a run. You can pick up about 10 to 12 easily that way. With a creative transcon routing you should be able to get 8 or so. I don't have the specifics but that should be a help. Check the MR primer. That will be a great help. Good Luck!! Take into account CO changes for next year for EQM and QSTL fares. Not sure what kind you buy.

He is from Houston. Transcons could be tough.
Consider doing a milaage run. Check out the Milage Run Thread. People post deals there.
Those Cool Special could help if you have the time.

Usually this is an offer to buy up one level only and only one time. Having said that, with CO's revenue push you may be offered it, but at a high price.

I'm in the exact same boat you are. So a friend of mine (who is also about to be demoted) and I are doing an MR to Bangkok on NWA. Cheapest R/T we could find in December was $600, but we paid $900 and used 50K miles to upgrade R/T to WBC for the run. It's worth about 20,000 miles since we are going IAH-MSP-NRT-BKK and the reverse on the way home.

Whatever you decide, good luck!
