Back to original post:

Dude, I'm like totally with you. I'm just a little south of 40 and look it, and man, this is like total class action lawsuit territory.

But you missed some important qualifiers. Like me, I suspect that you don't a) look like a bidnessman, b) look like an athlete, or c) look like a rap star.

So, you know, like what are us coming-onto-middle-age average guys who don't dress up for anybody and don't have monstrous biceps or excellent bling supposed to do?

How are we gonna take down this obvious discrimination? I'm pissed. Let's start our own airline.

I mean, I was like at the AUS counter yesterday, and this dude working there didn't even kneel down and salute me when he changed my flight to the earlier one and nailed me the upgrade on the new flight.

Well for starters, the opposite thread was bumped. Secondly, this 22 year old very much wishes - as he has always wished - to be older. As such, looking 40 and being elite appeals to me more than looking young and being elite. Finally AustinBear hit the humor nail on the head with this thread -- I don't think there's been a funnier one since the "...wait for it" website debacle thread! :D

PS> Question for the ladies: Is it possible to have one's hair died 'partly' grey (a la George Clooney)? I'm not looking to change the entire shooting match to solid grey/white/platinum/"Anderson Cooper" bleach/etc. but rather touch up my existing hair with a few grey ones. If so, could you PM me? Thanks!

Why bother with a PM? Let's open it up to the whole viewing audience. :p
The answer is: Yes, of course, and you can do it in the privacy of your own home or at your favorite spa salon. The question is: Do you want the George Clooney salt and pepper or just a touch of distinguishing grey at the temples a la Paulie Walnuts?

Wishing to be older? ROFLMGHAWO!!! (Rolling on the floor, laughing my grey hairs and wrinkles off.)

I'm going to bump this thread - since it is my favorite here on FT. Any new stories out there from 40ish (read: old) flyers?

Well, I finally made it, although the silver is still only in my blue card, not my hair and most people say I don't look over 38! For my flight on Tuesday, they had me take my seat in 5C when I first boarded, then when everyone else had boarded, they threw down the rose pedals and called me up to my seat up front! I think they respect me a little more now than two years ago when I only looked 36.

Oh, wait. They wanted to know if I wanted A walker, not Johnny Walker. And when I asked to use the lav before takeoff, they said Depends.

Oh well, getting older sure beats the alternative.

Wow, 40. You're WAY old. I won't be 40 until...oh, wait...this September. Never mind. :D

I always wonder why people resurrect dead threads. Now, I see it was your thread; that explains it. Hang on, I’m going to find all my deceased discourses and bring them back to life. ;)

No, like the original thread, it was just in response to a random bump by the author of the 'looking young and being elite' thread....(I'm a brain surgeon, but I look like I'm 19. Anyway, there I was at the gate, wearing my cashmere onesie and getting no respect...)

I think it is a hillarious thread..

regarding old threads coming back from the dead, I think it often has to do with the search function. A lot of times I am looking for some specific information and inadvertantly get sucked into reading a thread... I am already logged in and then when I fire back a comment at someone.. poof I go.. oh no what have I done.. :D ^ followed by a lot of comments like "What the hell, this thread is from 1998!!"

I think you'll get lots of supporters for the idea that old information is not bad information, especially on this thread!

Cool - how'd you pull that one off?

I was wondering when this thread would reappear.
