EUA Clog

I'm flying next weds (7/13) from LGA-(CLE)-SFO on a one stop single flight number flight. Got 6 day EUA on the outbound to LGA, and the return looked wide open. No EUA, 5 day no EUA, 5 day I called and asked about R seats, plenty of R available, today I tried again, R is available.

I'm betting it won't happen tonight either.

Under what conditions does EUA get 'clogged'?!

1651/13Jul shows 1R on LGA-SFO and LGA-CLE,
but shows more then 1R on CLE-SFO, at this moment.

I believe this creates some type of 'clog".

Beacuse you're flying on a single flight number (even though you have a stop), the EUA system requires that you are eligible for an upgrade on all segments before it upgrades you.

Another poster mentions there's only 1 R seat left on one of the segments...sounds like the EUA system doesn't think you deserve that last seat. Therefore, it's not going to upgrade you at all.

Looks like this one will be a battlefield upgrade if you're lucky.

Agents in LGA aren't likely to let you sit up front to CLE and then in the back to SFO because they'd have to separate your ticket...and to them it's a PITA. You could get lucky here, too, though

Good luck.

entropy - I suspect that you had originally booked your direct flight with multiple segments (rule 1) and paid the extra $5 or so for your ticket.

The situation could be that there was 1R seat available for that segment - and someone in a higher fare bucket got EUA'ed. Then the next day, CO released one or more R seats for EUA the next day. I suspect that CO releases R seats gradually over the 5 day period - not all available on day 6 out.

No, there were 2 R Seats available last night and the revenue buckets were unchanged, nobody got EUA'd last night.

unfortunatley, they refused to separate the segments so it is a "single segment", I tried 5 agents. I was told that they overbooked the CLE-SFO.

Marco- how are you getting R inventory?

the agent I talked to today told me there was R through the whole ticket.

Did the agent perhaps means there was R for LGA-CLE and R for CLE-SFO which wouldn't matter since you needed R for LGA-SFO?
