Yes, you're crazy. I am Platinum and my spouse is Gold. I book us separately so her status can't keep me from being upgraded. If I get upgraded (last 8 international flights!) and she doesn't, both of us are mature enough that we don't have to hold hands. (I appreciate the solitude anyway.) Continental's Business First on international 777's and 767's is the absolute best

But then again, we do know the category you must be in if you're getting international upgrades...and it's not Platinum (unless that's what they make the little wing-pins out of these days.)
