CO LGW-IAH was serving free drinks in coach 2 weeks ago.
|
Received free drinks in CoExp - CLE-ORD (we were delayed). Additionally, I've had a free drink or two in coach on IAH-BOG, IAH-MEX, and IAH-CUN flights. wcd

One of my collegues is off to Houston monday (LGW-IAH) and is on CO. The website says complimentary on select internation destinations. Does LGW-IAH count??? HOWEVER, since it came out of the mouth of an 800-we-could-care-less agent, it should be taken at face value. Nothing is official until we see it in writing. So at this point, I would say it's still just a rumor. Maybe our 2002 elite cards will have those little stars around the edge. The F/A's could be issued hole punches (but they might be a weapon), and every time you have a cocktail, they'll punch out a star on your card. No more stars, no more free drinks. C'mon lets start that as a rumor too! hehehehehehehe http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif Personally, I think CO is waiting it out to see if anyone else tries it first. In spite of the Euro, it will still be a nightmare of foreign currencies on board for the crew. IMO it'll be more hassle than its worth. But I also think it's just a rumor. Why would they wait so long to implement it? If Gordon can say one thing in the magazine and turn around and do another in the same month, they certainly could turn off the taps quickly as well. ------------------ Bad Gordon! No Freddie for you! [This message has been edited by duxfan (edited 01-24-2002).] |

Originally posted by dbaker: That's what we used to think. Yes and no. We saw Gordon say in writing that there would be no changes. Then we saw the changes in writing. at least those changes weren't months of speculation followed by the change. Was kinda like when your mom took a band-aid of you when you were a little kid. Quick, and hurt like H***! ------------------ Bad Gordon! No Freddie for you! |
I suppose next Gordon may take away our free booze in the PC. Now that would really bite!!

I flew EWR-Manchester, UK in CO coach over Thanksgiving and there were no free alcoholic beverages in coach. Prior to boarding, the podium called elites up for free drink coupons. I'm wondering if 'select int'l. destinations' depends on whether they have lotsa 'free drink' competition on that non-stop route.
|
alcohol was free and available in coach last week EWR-Brussels. And on the return, too.

At $4 each, it's a good thing none of my 16 serial-numbered Complimentary "Continental Currency" coupons, Form OPP-2423, A-652, has an expiration date. "International" flights include the Pacific, too.
