When to expect new BF menus?
 

I had hoped that the "congress of chefs" by now would have created some new BF menus. Although they do rotate somewhat, the menu for my upcoming flight is still the same as a long time ago (as it was a little ago, and a while ago, and recently, and actually all the time in between).

Any longtime CO flyers with experience on BF menu renewal time?

I can only take the "Sterling Silver Steak" or the "Du Barry sauce" for so much longer....

When, oh, when will the Congress go back into session?

Actually, the cobbler is the only item I am always looking forward to. I hope they don't change that in the (near) future. Contrary, the consistently over coocked duck may disappear ASAP (or be handled better).

I can't stand the apricot/herb chicken dish... I hope it disappears soon (to another , better, chicken dish...)

But when is the time? Every 5 years? I do understand that creating menus is costly. However, the special leaflet in the menu with attention to the Congress of Chefs is suggesting a continous process, which apart from the newly introduced side-dishes, it is not.

At least be grateul you get a menu with choices to choose from; unlike Delta, where the only choice is to eat or not to eat. If you choose to eat, you will be getting the "chicken surprise". I am swtiching my First Class travel to Continental because I can't take anymore of Delta's poor excuse for First Class meal service!

I absolutely love the pasta dish they put out there. I try to stay vegetarian, and that is just REALLY good. No complaints here. Plus I don't fly businessfirst that much, but I run a TON of miles east coast to LAX or LAS. They need a vegetarian meal on there - chicken or beef isn't a choice.

Are you saying Delta does not offer printed menus and choice of entrees in BusinessElite (their equivalent of CO's BusinessFirst)?! Wow.

my congress of chefs is au bon pain, mcdonalds, or whatever i can get my hands on BEFORE i board (yes, even in first and businessfirst).

My apologies...I am referring to Domestic First. In Business Elite, DL does indeed distribute menus and a wine list.

Overhaul Menus
 

CO shouldn't stop at BF menus ...they should refresh/update their overall offerings on domestic flights.

How much lobster bisque, split pea soup, crabcake sandwhiches, cheeseburgers, and mystery beef sandwiches can CO really have stockpiled? I give ^ for offering 1/2 decent meals in F ...but I give them :td: for not mixing menus up a bit and changing options around more frequently.

So, when is it? They are still the same. I remember a story in the in-flight magazine about updating the menu and also some stories posted after the "do", but have not noticed any changes so far.

Well, the apricot chicken is gone as far as I can tell!
(Looks like I requested that earlier in this thread two years ago).
Last week, I had (and saw for the first time) Chicken Tandoori (maybe an influence of the DEL flights?).
It came with basmati rice, curried chickenpeas, sauteed peas, and a thing of chutney on the side.

It was really, really good. ^ ^ :D

Just to add note, too, is it just me or is the portion size of the salads getting larger?

I was told by Siggy that they are doing some new stuff this spring. But so far I haven't seen much in the way of new dishes.

unfortunately, I was also told the charles LaFitte is here to stay for a while... :(

i think CO's beef is horendous. my brother and I both go pasta dish every time in BF. in biz or FC ill always take the choice that is not beef (unless its salmon, that's even worse).

i wish they would get back to the menu circa 2000. you actually had to use utensils to eat dinner iah-east coast.
