Well, $0.11 on top of the 3 or 3.5 cpm for the rdms. Still nearly double what it should be.

Maybe tomorrow it'll fall to 4cpm for the eqm add-on (~7cpm combined)

$300 for RDM and $2000 for 10000 EQM as of today in my reservation.

Was $3000 near EOY.

That is still high. In the spring of '11 I was offered ~$1400 for ~9800 EQM's.

I checked late in 2011 and it came to about 20 cpm. Just checked today and was offered $789 for 6,066 miles (about 13cpm).

Yesterday was offered 30,000 EQM's for $6,000, today it is ony $3,000. Is it possible for me to buy the regular 30,000 for 750, but use the smaller 10,000 EQM option also?

Yes -- only avail on CO site - don't know if it works for a code-share bought on CO site -- but it is available for CO metal bought on CO site ... it's NOT something UA ever implemented for it's own flights.

I bought at the UA site and flying CO metal. I didnt realize the "marriage" had not progressed to be able to purchase elite miles.

The easiest way to see the current rate is at the bottom of this page. No reservation or math needed.

Note the Upgrade reward co-pay range on that page is wrong, should max out at $600 not $500.

Except for the fact that the rate given there is inaccurate...

Is UA testing the water

I wonder if United Corp testing the waters to see how much they can charge for EQMs? :td:

They have changed a number of CO policies - such as removed lifetime club membership.

A poster above says he saw 22.5 and 23 cents all in today.

The page says 20 cents for elite maximizer plus 2.5 to 3.2 cents for miles maximizer.

That's spot on.

Uh... PMUA had lifetime club membership as a reward for 2MM, which has passed into history with the merger. Check the PMUA page if you think this has been taken lightly. I also remind you that Smisek and most senior executives are PMCO.

Each side is getting whacked.

elite max at 0.10

Just checked in for LAX IAH, rate is showing at 10 cents.

drowelf Jan 5, 2012 1:29 pm

For my flight on Sunday 3524 miles is at RDM 106 EQM 353 for a $0.13024 total cost. Still far from the ~.07 I paid at times last year.

pkdof Jan 5, 2012 5:16 pm

Just got an offer LAX-ORD at .13 (rdm + eqm). Booked flight for 1/26 so as to take advantage of DEQM promo. Do you think price will go down between now and my flight?

fllyer Jan 5, 2012 6:08 pm

Odds are much better it will go down rather than up. I'd wait.

TommyC80 Jan 7, 2012 1:17 pm

What's up with UA leaving the EQM at 10 cents each? Mileage runs are starting to look a lot better again...
