Where it's two weeks out i dunno, but if that is still there when you're within the UDU window, then I'd be pi$$ed

With PMUA, that wouldn't happen - that offer would only be out there if there was NC/NF, and of course if you were waitlisted, you'd be clearing that. If you get that offer at initial booking, you know that means there's NC/NF space.

With PMCO (and new UA), you'll see that offer all day long. Multiple upgrade buckets, so they can ratchet down the EUA/miles/UG instrument bucket to 0, and keep the YBM/TOD bucket wide open.

Still waitlisted (along with my SO) for a flight tomorrow that is F5 RN2 R2. I am Plat, she is Gold.

A dummy booking offers a $100 "upgrade" to first.

HOWEVER... that dummy booking books into M, at $554. Doing a dummy booking for F shows $654. So that actually makes sense.

If there was a non-member already booked in G that was getting the offer for $100 I'd be a bit peeved... but that's not the case here (from what I can tell).

Wow - what route has only a $100 difference from M to F? That seems crazy. Going from M to B alone can be $100 or more.

SEA-IAH, tomorrow 11:50pm, CO1115. And it's M -> A.

I see - $654 is actually an H-up, not a true A fare, so that's why it's so cheap.

When you book on the website it says Fare Class=A.

Got a buy up offer on a west coast to EWR flight today for 175. Seems noticeably less than a fare difference (was on a T fare, and the M upfare should be 300-400), so seems like some of these may be getting shown to elites as well. Inventory showed F5 at the time and was 7 on the upgrade list (presumably non-rev travelers would be lower on the upgrade list).

At departure time only two showed as upgrades on the status page (one was long time GS/PP window upgrade, other was cleared at the gate). While certainly plausible they got enough takes to upfare to F for say 50-100 on more expensive fares, still seemed weird to get the 175 offer.

Current price for a M fare is $668. I highly doubt your T fare was $493 one way, so it sounds like you got a nice TOD.

Send on to UA Insider BTW...

I'm pretty sure they're not pricing the fare differential based on current fares. I think they'll consider historical M fares, and frankly I'm not sure if they calculate the difference between what you actually paid and some historical M fare, or some historical T fare and another historical M fare or what. And I don't know if they use the historical M fare on the date you originally purchased your ticket or some other date.

I do recall discussion about the actual fare differential calculations with CO Insider (Scott) when this program was first rolled out but I don't remember the details. Perhaps sbm12 or others do.

So the system integration is going forward ^ and in looking at one of my itineraries I notice the following.....

Upgrade Your Flight

New York, NY (JFK) to San Francisco, CA (SFO)

$596
per person

JFK to SFO | 6 hr 28 mn| Boeing 757-200| United Economy/Meals for Purchase| 9 Seats Available
I am waitlisted on this flight and have been since booking but if I read UA Insider's posts correctly, this should not be happening, right?:confused::confused:

For PMCO flights on the old CO.com, I was never able to get a UFC offer if I was already WL'd with miles or a regional

I *almost* don't mind seeing it (assuming WL segment still on there) as it is a nice check that the UFC is legitimate, and not a TOD

If your business adverised a filthy lie, it would pay a huge fine, but not the racketters at UA

Is there any reason you feel the need to be discussing the same topic in at least three different threads?
