0% EQMs in First Class on an "A" fare?
 

I was just trying to book a First Class ticket from LAX-EWR flight on CO, and the flights are showing a fair class of "A" (with a price of $1,209 one way), which I have never seen in First before.

In fact there is no fair class of "A" even listed on CO's web site for earning miles: https://www.continental.com/web/en-U...e/qualify.aspx

And the OnePass Miles column is showing 0% EQMs instead of the normal 150%. eg "OnePass Miles/Elite Qualification*:2,454 /0%"

Anybody know what this all means? If I book it should assume I will still get 150% EQMs?

Yes.

Co's website just hasn't posted those properly. They also do this badly when you're upgraded using instruments or UDU.

It more then likely has to do with the adjustment of the fare codes (PN, RN, etc.). You will earn 150% miles for the fares.

I booked a RT from EWR to SEA this weekend in L class.

My "Elite Upgrade Notification" email arrived right at the 72hr mark (I'm CO Gold). Shows I'm now in 2E.

When I check my reservation on the CO website, it shows:
Fare Class: First (RN)
OnePass Miles: 2401
Elite Qualification: 0%

My return flight still shows (L) class and 2401/100% (I'm not at the upgrade window yet)

And now, when I check the flight staus on CO.com, on the "Upgrade Standby List" tab it shows:
Capacity: 20
Booked: 6
Checked in: 0
No Customers Upgraded

On the "Seat Map" tab, it shows my upgraded seat 2E as occupied (it was vacant on the seat map before the EUA).

So my questions are:
1. Shouldn't I be listed as having been upgraded?

2. What does Fare Class (RN) mean? (I did a search and "Ask Alex" on the CO site without results)

3. Why does my EWR to SEA reservation now show 0% Elite Qualification?

The percentage listed on CO.sux itineraries are not reliable; they can be and are erroneous in both directions.

Was looking to book a one way SFO-LAX-EWR-PUJ for around 750$ with LAX-SFO in Z class on UA and LAX-EWR in A class.

Does anybody know how many miles will I be credited for A class on CO to M*M program of LH?
I could not find any information but the price is really good.!!!

I was booked into A for an itinerary last week, actually. When the flights initially posted, they were listed as "A" on the Miles/Points column of my OnePass Statement and gave me 1.5 EQP, but only the base mileage for EQM. However, I noticed this morning that my EQP total went down, so I again checked my statement. Turns out those flights have had their fare code replaced with ZH... as if I were upgraded via the complimentary elite upgrade system, on an H fare ticket.

The fare basis was one of the H-UP type fares, but it was always listed as an "A" fare. And since it was purchased (domestic) First class, I'd think it should get the bonus EQM/P... though of course the website does not, as noted above, actually list the A fare anywhere, so its a hard case to make.

Might have to reach out to CS to ask about this.

It is really tricky..

for example a segment EWR-LAX in A when I check the fare rules shows as H class.

But if I simulate on 19.11 LAX-EWR-AUA with first segment in A it shows as A class.

I credit miles to LH M&M therefore I am interested to get 300% miles...

Do we know if a booking in A class on CO generates the class of service bonus or not? (ie is is treated as a first class fare or as an economy fare)? On UA, A class is a "discounted F" fare.

I hate to break the bad news, but so far I did not get the 50% bonus in EQM's. I have sent an email to onepass to ask why. I have several flights that show A Fare class and ZH on my account.

I will respond back when I hear, but if anyone has any information that would be great.

I have been looking at FC between BWI and SNA and notice that my choices inbound (SNA-BWI) include a few flights that show 0% EQM. Oddly, these are the flights that go through IAH or EWR. I also note that, while none of the flights have an "Operated By" qualifier, the flight numbers are all CO1xxx. I thought 4 digit flight numbers were supposed to indicate code shares?

There were always flights in the 1xxx range that were CO mainline operated. That is getting worse with the merger and the larger pool of flight numbers that are mainline.

Do you know the significance of the 1xxx flight number? I find it curious that every flight that shows 0% EQM has one.

I do not think they are at all related, other than that nearly all domestic CO metal flights now are in that flight number range.
