deceptive buy extra miles offer on co.com itin screen- "Achieve elite status quicker"
I'm unable to attach a screen shot, but I just came across this offer on a "my itinieraries" style screen at continental.com --
A ~2 inch offer advertisement bar for upgrading on the left hand side (30,000 miles or $1,700) and on the right hand side:
"Buy extra miles for this trip"
"-- Get closer to your next OnePass reward"
"-- Achieve Elite status quicker"
" -- Starting at $188 per person"
Total bs. Who writes these ads? At least on the next page it says that the extrra miles are not elite-earning.

Indeed--you have to go to the screen, then click on the checkbox for the miles (1x more or 2x more) and when you check the box for the RDMs, the checkbox for also making them EQMs appears. You certainly can buy EQMs that count toward Elite status. Heck, one could make Elite entirely on these miles if one wanted to!
