OnePass problem
Tried a search but came up empty.
I am planning to go on a Transatlantic Cruise this fall, BCN ---> FLL
Wife and I want 2 reward tickets: CMH -> BCN.
Online (CO.com), I was able to see availability CMH - ORD - MUC. Then we would overnight at MUC airport hotel, then next day MUC - BCN.
It seemed to work on-line, as a business (TATL) award. Using multi-itinerary reward, it showed 52,500 miles (business) for the TATL leg, plus 12,500 (coach) for the MUC-BCN leg. (per person)
My problem is I want First class on LH on the ORD-MUC leg. The 2 seats are available (for extra miles), but I can not book F on line, just business.
I called the one-pass service center, and they said "this is an illegal booking".
I told them it seemed to allow it on-line, TATL in business. They said when I tried to finalize the on-line booking (i.e. credit card payment for the fees), that I would get an error.
Can anyone give me some assistance/advice? I would prefer not to have to "throw away" 1/2 of a round trip reward ticket.
thanks!

I'm guessing the problem here is that you can't have a stopover on a one way award ticket... so the overnight at MUC isn't allowed. I could be wrong...

I also believe if its > 24 hrs then there shouldnt be any extra miles needed since its really a CMH-BCN tkt via MUC
a side question when did CO start allowing 1 way awards

They don't yet (you are charged round trip)
However, I read on FT how you can build it as a multi-itinerary, and save some miles. (12,500 for the extra leg, versus throwing away 27,500 for TATL coach return)
I may just try to book it on line in business so I don't lose the seats.

I did not know you could transfer miles.
I do not have a UA account, but I will open one (with a credit card, for the bonus miles) and take your advice!
Thanks!!!!
