Continental.com Preview site

Anybody know what is new on the site? I couldn't find anything....
Email says "Look for improvements to itinerary servicing and information functionality for our merger with United Airlines when previewing the site."

I've been playing around with it for half and hour... can't find anything new.

ETA: I just noticed the ability to search for specific fare classes when changing an itinerary. I think that's new. At last it's the first time I've noticed it - like it!

I can't see anything. Maybe it hasn't been rolled out yet.

The calendar on the fare search is different. It now allows you to choose a month and year from a drop down rather than having to click on the arrows to get where you want.

How does one find this new site?

KarlJ Mar 2, 2011 2:45 pm

Not too much different just yet (to my eyes, anyway...) but admittedly, I haven't spent much time there, either.

@FriendlySkies; by the email and links, it seems to be a targeted invite. Not sure though.

Well, a feature that is surely different is the opportunity to provide feedback.

My "favorite" bugs were still there: 1. If half of a reservation is waitlisted to upgrade using miles, the option to upgrade the other half is all fouled up; it attempt to reupgrade the same half. 2. On OS X Safari, downloading a OnePass statement PDF yields a PDF of the login screen, even if one is already logged in.

So I reported these as bugs, using the Preview feedback mechanism.

My UA reservations (with my OnePass number on the record) show up under My Reservations... That is new.

I'm not special enough :(

! We could not process your request. Please see the message below and make revisions.

! The preview.continental.com Web site is limited to invited customers.
Too bad, I've love to be able to see my UA reservations with my CO number attached.

Just wait a couple of days.... On 3/5 it is for everyone.

Continental Airlines invites you to preview changes to our Web site prior to public release, scheduled for Saturday, March 5, 2011. Between now and March 5, go to the preview site to conduct all your normal Continental business including online check-in and use the Comments link at the top right-hand corner of each page to provide your feedback. Note: All transactions performed on this site are live.

Look for improvements to itinerary servicing and information functionality for our merger with United Airlines when previewing the site.

Can we assume that since United.com just got a few new graphics, meanwhile Continental.com got a more significant overhaul, that the 'new' Continental.com will survive moving forward?

I didn't see this discussed yet, but it makes sense.

I think it's been discussed.

I really hope that the CO site survives. The CO website is generally superior, though my greater familiarity with the CO site makes me biased. There are a few exceptions, e.g. UA's superior ability of book non-codeshare OAL flights (CO only recently added UA flights) and lack of tacky ads.

CO: please keep the iPhone/Pod/Pad app.

So not to be inpatient, but isn't it the 5th? Are any people seeing the "new" site?

Maybe this message means something is happening...

"Continental.com is currently undergoing maintenance, you may experience slower response times. We apologize for the inconvenience"

They said in the preview email that they were going to be deploying the site today. Looks like they meant it. ;)
