I really hope that the CO site survives. The CO website is generally superior, though my greater familiarity with the CO site makes me biased. There are a few exceptions, e.g. UA's superior ability of book non-codeshare OAL flights (CO only recently added UA flights) and lack of tacky ads.

CO: please keep the iPhone/Pod/Pad app.

The UA way of displaying flights side by side is much better than COs setup.

What are we supposed to see on the new website?

The pda site includes UA as of today though it only shows basic status & tail #, no upgrade info

I disagree; I suppose one of us will be disappointed when the combined site rolls out.

Really? You prefer to only see the outbound, have to select one, and then wait for the returns to show up before you can see the total price? Seems undeniably better to show both on one screen, with the price updating as you choose different combinations.

Really? It's been like that for me for a couple of weeks, although my UA reservations were actually mostly Codeshares on CO metal (and one regional flight I can't figure out if it's CO or UA...)

I noticed some changes on the live site. When you do a check flight status say CO 600 FLL-EWR is asks if you want to check UA 600 ORD-TPA It does that for every flight but the CO flight and UA flight numbers are not at all releated. Also assigns a code share flight number, CO 600 is UA 3546.

How does one find this new site?

You need to be a OnePass member, and send a PM to UA Insider or email [email protected], with your OP number, to ask for an invite. Then, it's preview.continental.com

Can we assume that since United.com just got a few new graphics, meanwhile Continental.com got a more significant overhaul, that the 'new' Continental.com will survive moving forward?

I didn't see this discussed yet, but it makes sense.

It's not actually a new site; CO periodically updates the site, and sends out the preview site first for comments.

I prefer the CO version more (it gives more information). The one thing about the UA version I like more is that both the inbound and outbound are listed on the same page.

Hmmmm, mine don't show. UA flights with UA flight numbers, both with my CO number attached.

Yes, I like the way CO displays it because they show you what the best price will be on the very first screen. I generally buy based on fare so if I see one flight is going to be much more expensive no matter which return I pick I know not to start there. UA doesn't tell me any price unless I have both selected which I find inefficient and harder to determine the best price from. I may not know for certain what the final price is after I pick that first one, but I know what the lowest it will be is and I know at a glance how much that will change by me altering my departure time. With UA you have to individually select each flight to know what its impact on the pricing will be. That's not user-friendly to me.

I also find that the javascript implementation they have for calculating and displaying those prices is slow and resource-intensive.

Supposedly the updated Continental.com went live yesterday. The only changes I can see is the UA flight status option.

Other posters have reported being able to see UA reservations which will be posting to their CO Account on the "new" site.

I have 3 reservations coming up on UA (Booked on UA, travel on UA metal, and credited to CO) which don't appear in upcoming reservations, or under "my account".

Is there a delay in the full release of the site? Or is this feature not working for my account?

gregsachs Mar 6, 2011 7:13 pm

Pretty sure it is live, as the flight search has changed-the month is now drop down, not just arrows. That was a new preview feature.

I agree. I like seeing the fares beside each choice on the outbound.

I guess I'm confused...it used to just be the one month before or after arrows?

yeah, exactly. The drop down month/year is much nicer, at least in my mind.
