Increase in VDB's
Has anyone noticed an increase in VDB's on continental over the past few months? On a trip this month IAH-EWR-SEA-ANC-SEA-EWR-IAH, the GA was looking for volunteers on 5 of the 6 segments including the 1230am out of ANC.

Overall, not really....
However, I did score two VDB comps last Monday.
Just assumed it was a typical Monday oversell.

Maybe UA is influencing CO to be more risk-oriented than their typical conservative revenue management style.

That could be depending on when you flew. September represents the end of cruising season, and I expect to see a corrisponding drop in traffic. CO has already ended SEA-CLE, and cut two SEA-EWR flights. I don't really monitor the SEA-IAH flights.

Typical for CO to drop two SEA-EWR. They'll also wind up dropping two or three SEA-IAH as you get into winter. For now the first flight to go is the evening SEA-IAH flight departing at 6p. That disappeared a few weeks ago I believe. Next you will see one of the afternoon flights disappear and in the dead of winter you may see one of the early morning flights disappear.
All-in-all, typical for CO so far.

You don't monitor SEA-IAH flights when your profile says you're based in SEA/IAH?

There always seems to be a bit of over capicity on SEA-IAH, so I don't really worry about it as much as EWR or CLE.
