Anything bought post security (within reasonable cabin baggage limitations) can be brought on board. Purchases obtained at the James Richardson Duty Free concession at TLV are not not sealed, nor are they required to be. Israel is more renowned for its red wines, but periodically they carry the Domaine du Castel whites, which are superb.

I had my TA check with Continental.
NO bottles are allowed on board. Now the question is: do they check at the gate??? Shofar |
Question 2:
Do they sell liquor in their in flight duty free???? Can't find it on their web site. |

Getting off in EWR so transit is no problem.
I don't fly CO very often and flying to Europe is no problem with liquids if you and not transiting. Thanks for the help to all. Shofar |
I froze margaritas in a plastic water bottles and tried to explain to the TSA it was a solid not a liquid. It didnt work, darn it. (also cheep margaritas because they froze)

As far as I can remember TLV doesn't even have the liquid rule, Ive flown out 5 times in the past year and they never once asked me if there was any liquid in my bags. I Didn't take out my toothpaste, deodorant etc. And they have never bothered me about it. I've also bought in the duty free there and brought it onto my continental flight.

I know that TLV does not have the liquid rule. The question really was secondary checking at the gate. Thanks for your info I hope they are not checking the day I go through.
In my experience, duty free purchases are delivered on the plane or for pickup by the passenger at the cabin door, so you shouldnt have any problem. Why a 1 1/2 oz miniature bottle of booze isn't allowed but multiple 750ml, 1 liter, 1.75 liter, or larger bottles are is beyond me. go figure that while US based carriers/security don't mind pax bringing liquor aboard, Mexico has a problem with bringing liquor aboard flights heading for the US. its just those type of things that make me drink........ |
