No they didn't manufacture the throttle systems, but no fault has been found in the throttle systems either. The recall had to do with the gas pedals themselves. In very specific situations there was a potential of them sticking. Koito supplies other manufacturers with pedals as well (and NHTSA is investigating them too).

Oh I can't wait, this 735 Tuesday to EWR from IAH is not acceptable.
But the 735 going to DFW instead of the whole day full of RJs would be mighty fine! |

I wish that CO would restore the 733/735 IAH-LFT service mornings and evenings but it ain't gonna happen.....several years ago, they made a big deal about "all ERJ service" 9-10 times a day when the Boeings went away.....however, they've been slipping in Colgan Air Saab 340s on the run for awhile now which is NOT a fun airplane to ride in when you're dodging thunderstorms over southern Looziana & southeast Texas, especially with nervous Cajun grannies on board. :(
LFT and ELP lost all of their mainline services recently :rolleyes:....<sigh>....makes for long commutes for yours truely! :( |

This is CO, though. Do you really expect them to look at a different seat manufacturer, even if it's just for new planes? That would involve having two (2) different types of seats, and its maintenance facilities would have to to be trained in how to install or maintain two types of seats, not to mention stock parts for them.
It would cripple the company and cost them millions. It's probably cheaper to park the new planes in Seattle until the dust settles. |

4 738s at RNT 2 738s at BFI military ramp 2 738s at the BFI delivery center. For you home gamers out there that is just a touch over half a billion dollars (book value) in CO planes that are just sitting there waiting for seats. Koito lawsuit in 3...2...1... |
CO will be taking the 8 delayed 738s with B/E Aerospace seats as an interim solution. Looks like Boeing may have had to cut a deal to get the birds delivered as Koito continues to be unable to provide the hardware.

This is some welcome news. Do other CO aircraft have seats from B/E Aerospace?
