EUA Problem

I'm taking a companion with me on a trip this Thursday, and being primarily a Delta flyer, I initially booked us on the same PNR (that's the only way you can upgrade a companion on DL). When I found out I needed to split the records in order for me to get my EUA, I did so.

Here's the rub: there are mileage upgrade seats available now, and we're well within the 72 hour upgrade period. It's my understanding that the mileage upgrades and EUAs come from the same inventory, so I'm thinking there's something wrong with my record. FWIW, there are 12 of 16 FC seats avail on the flight, and it's IAH-CUN on a Thursday afternoon, so it's not like it's an elite-heavy flight...

Any ideas on what could be happening, and what I might be able to do to fix it? Thanks in advance.

What could be happening is that the R-bucket is being zeroed out right before the EUA runs at T-120, T-96, T-72, etc. and opened back up afterward.

I don't see anyone on the upgrade list for any of the IAH - CUN flights on Thursday, so a call to the elite desk may not be a bad idea.

Thanks for the suggestion - I called the Elite desk and they say all is well, the EUA process just hasn't upgraded me yet... I'm still kind of new at CO, so all this automation is a little disconcerting. I kind of like being able to call the AA EXP desk and have them manually put upgrades through when there's a glitch... Ahh well, trade-offs...

Yeah, and those stories are why I'm a little miffed that I haven't been upgraded on a leisure route on an off day... Oh well. Such is life.

If I got upgraded LAX-IAH-DCA...Sure the LAX-IAH part was a doozy but the IAH-DCA I wasn't even anticipating the EUA...Snagged the last seat 24 hours out...so I am hitting 90% on CO EUA markets so far this year and I only missed one IAH-DCA =)...

EUAs broken...sure...but hey if life gives you lemons...you buy the Pomegranate mixers CO sells you in F!

Agreed. It really hurts for their to be a ton of first class seats open going into T-24 and then all of the plats and golds finally run and there is nothing left for the lowly silvers
