Why go to holideck when you can still access the new and better skyteam lounge?

Because she's going in as a companion of a BF customer and they do not get guests at the ST lounge.

Gwen: You've asked the question about 10 different ways in the past month and all the answers point to the same thing. It isn't good news for you but it is what it is.

Good luck.

lounge

actually I have had conflicting answers..!!! hence re-wording the question on occasion....
pre the change I was told by continental I could be a guest in skyteam with them, but to check after the changeover, after the changeover continental told me the ONLY lounge is holideck NOT skyteam for my companions OR me..
so I asked on this site and they said skyteam was still okay, but no to guest entry, so I am aware that I am going to have to pay..not a problem, so I asked what was the best way..
was p club day pass the answer.. told no.. there are no pclub lounges in lhr... so then asked which way to pay to get into holideck.. told speak to emirate auirlines....so I was about to pay thru a lounge agent, when they told me there has been BIG construction issues in the holideck lounge and only 1/3rd was open...expected to re-open mid december, so I am asking this question today:
is anyone aware if it has re-opened or if anyone had a date for re-opening -

if I am about to pay for a building site I would like to know.. but MORE so for the comfort of my wheelchair bound companion...
I only ask questions when there is a conflict with the info given to me between continental and flyertalk...and I check it out..sorry for that..
on the international bits (usa) there has never been any conflicting answers.. only the lhr access..

it is unfortunate that we are having to learn how to do travel with disbility facilities/access required, and when I have a couple of journeys under our belt I will be a little less paranoid..
thanks everyone for your input.. gwen

belt I may be a little less paranoid about what lies ahead...

Isn't the holideck where Captain Kirk sits on the Enterprise?

Actually holodecks weren't around in Kirk's day. It was on Picard's Enterprise where we were first introduced to the holodeck although the technology had been around for some time.

Holideck status

Stuck in Terminal 4 during a flight delay this past weekend and spent some time in both lounges when the time got pushed back further.

The Holideck second floor remains closed. Only the main floor and the small, cold (but fun for airplane buffs) observation area are open. No indication that any work is proceeding in a rush on the second floor. The lounge as a whole is very tired and could use a refresh, yet certainly adequate with seating in several areas; efficient staff; a good selection of beverages; and a so-so selection of primarily packaged snacks. Entry is via a range of affiliations including Priority Pass or one-time bookings through Holiday Extras (18 to 19 pounds).

The SkyTeam Lounge is much newer, nicer and busier. No questions or hassles using Continental credentials; however both Presidents Club and BusinessFirst entry preclude guests, presumably because Continental is paying its old alliance per admission.

I guested somneone into the Shy Team lounge today. It helped that we both had elite plat printed on our boarding passes (I bought his ticket with my OP miles), but they took my PC membership when registering him. Neither of us were flying BF. Maybe it was the *G status?

Actually, it depends on whether or not you accept the Animated Series as "canon", as there was a holodeck shown on Kirk's Enterprise in one TAS episode - it was called the "Rec Room".

How's THAT for Trek-geekiness!

I brought a guest into the SAN DL lounge last month with no problem. Guess it depends on the credential checker.
